That WOOOHOOO Feeling

Have you ever had that feeling where you just feel invincible? It's normal if you have. In fact if you haven't I would be extremely surprised.  It's a fun feeling. Makes you feel good doesn't it? It also gets you into trouble a lot if your not careful.  Don't worry though if it does get you in trouble because its part of life, it's a part of growing up. And it's bull shit if anyone bitches at you for living life and growing up. Not everyone is going to make the right decision all the time, in fact nobody is perfect so nobody will always make the right decision. But look at it this way, people that bitch have been there too, so they really have no room to talk.

Another thing I want to talk about is voicing your opinion. It's a lot of fun sometimes and it's a good way to defend yourself.  It's also a good way to express how you feel. Actually, it is probably the best way to express yourself. People are gonna deserve what you have to say and some might not. Again, it's how it is.  It's life. We are gonna say shit that we mean and somethings that we do not mean.  That's alright. Mistakes happen. You can always try to fix them. But don't let someone who pissed you off try to make you feel like shit because you yell at them if they deserve it.  It's a free country. We can say what we want. And we don't have to apologize.

So remember that who we are effects things in this world, but that doesn't mean that they we have to let them effect who we are.  Never let that happen.  Once you do then you're screwed. Just live your life like you normally would. Don't let others tell you what to do.  And don't let the world tell you what's wrong or what's right. You will know in your heart if its right or wrong.

Ben's WTF Fact of the Day

Female octopi eat the male octopus after sex, much like many species of spiders do

Now you Know

Covert Introverts

Not everyone spends their free time at parties or nightclubs. Some people would rather stay at home and listen to music than go out with others. Rather than being proactive in meeting new friends, these people are content with spending most of the weekend in the comfort of their home. American society, mostly dominated by extroverts, often mislabels them as being antisocial, but that is not the case. Antisocial behavior is lack of all care or concern for other living beings. Those who pursue alone time are often not antisocial, but are actually introverted.
Introverts are the exact opposite of extroverts. Unlike their counterparts who receive energy from others, introverts gain energy from being alone. Social activities drain introverted people, who then need to recharge. After prolonged human contact, those with introverted tendencies need to get away from people and participate in solo activities, such as watching TV, reading, listening to music, thinking, or even sleeping. This does not mean, however, that introverts have no friends. Instead of having numerous friends that they keep in contact with all the time, introverts have a few close people that they rely on. Even if an introvert enjoys large social gatherings, they must leave after a while because of their lack of energy. This is the same as when a basketball player must stop playing a game after minutes of sprinting, even if they truly want to continue. A major characteristic of introverts is their deep thought process, which makes them extremely cautious. Along with extroversion, introversion also lies on a scale.

High introversion: Those with high introversion have very limited amounts of energy for social activity. Normally, they stay to themselves and confide in only a few close friends. Very reserved, only making actions after examining the situation carefully.

Moderate introversion: People with moderate introversion can engage in social events for hours at a time, but require an hour or more of time alone to compose their thoughts. Usually have a small but close circle of friends, and enjoy parties in small doses.

Low introversion: Slightly introverted people may not seem to be introverted at all. While enjoying hours of social time or relaxing with friends, these introverts require little recharge time. More introspective and cautious than most extroverts.

Outgoing introverts may be the center of attention at parties, and may be especially gregarious and sociable. However, this is just a guise that hides the fact that they are actually losing energy.

*A certain distinction should be made about shyness versus introversion. Shyness is the fear of ridicule and embarrassment from social situations. Introversion is the type of personality that finds social events tiring.

Strengths:
-cautious and deliberate, allowing for the avoidance of many mistakes
-work well alone, formulating their own ideas
-can entertain themselves when alone using their own thoughts

Weaknesses
     -over thinking leads to indecisiveness
-do not share their thoughts easily in group settings, such as an office
-may have difficulty voicing their own opinions

Unleash Your Inner Ninja

So I bet your thinking what in the hell is he talking about. Scroll down and look at the photo. In fact I wrote this wearing that. Yes I'm Ninja Nate.

What does this have to do with any of you?

Well... I'm trying to tell you to have fun. And don't let anything get in your way of having fun. We are going to do things that piss people off. We get out of control every now and then. Does that make us bad people?  No, hell no it doesn't. It makes us better actually. We are supposed to have fun that's what life is for. Don't let those Debbie Downers tell you not to have fun. Have fun. Be your "ninja" whatever that might be. And yea you might get in trouble now and then but you live and you learn. Again it doesn't make us stupid or a bad person because all we are doing is doing what we were made for. They can't take that away from you. If they do tell them, "Uhuh. I'm being my ninja self." Killjoys are boring. (By the way what sounds better killjoy or joykill? Personally I think joykill but people tell me I'm wrong. I don't know.) So everyone who reads this remember we all have our inner "ninja" whatever are you going to do with it? Release him? Or suppress him? Probably should go with the first one. Go ahead take a leap for once in your life. Do it.
Unleash your "ninja!"

If you wanna know how to do the ninja mask, here are the steps:

1. Take a shirt put and put your head through the head hole, but don't put your arms through.

2. Flip the back part of the shirt over your head and over your for head to make the top part of the mask.

3. Now take the sleeves of the shirt, and tie them behind your head. The bottom part of the mask should fall into place then.

4. Then make some fine adjustments.

5. BAM! NINJA!

Tip flip down the bottom here and there to get some fresh air I'm getting light headed just typing this.

What Do You See?

Bases loaded. Two outs. Bottom of the 9th. Down by three runs. What do you do? Swing for the fences? Try to chip away hit by hit run by run hoping that your team mates can bring home some runners as well?

That scenario should draw some thought up in your mind. I'll help. Take a walk. Go someplace where you can see your reflection. What do you see? Probably 95% of you reading this would say some kind of physical trait. You would say hair color, eye color, short, tall, skinny, fat. But then there are you smart asses that say, "I see myself." THAT'S GOOD! But look deeper. You are off on the right track. But as you look deeper, look at your strengths and weaknesses along with your personality.

Now your wondering what does this have to do with the scenario about baseball? Well here it is. You could swing for the fences if you are capable of hitting one out of the park. Or you could try for a double or triple if you have the batting ability and speed. Or if you are new to the game and your in this position you pray for a single or anything actually that would get runs in.

Now. Take what you just read and apply it to your current problem. Look at your strengths. Everyone is different. We got different problems as well. But I believe we can all deal with our problems in our own way using our strengths and eliminating our weaknesses. I can't tell you how to do that because I don't know your strengths. However, I can tell you to look at your reflection. Tell yourself your strengths and work on them. Figure a way to use them to your advantage. You have been given them for a reason. You just need to learn how to use them. And if you say you don't have any, well then your a dirty liar. I believe in you. I believe you can fight your own battles and fix your problems. Even chase a dream you have. If I believe in you, you need to believe in you.

Finding Our Way

We've all been in a position where we were denied something that we wanted, have we not? The next thing we do is try to get over that depressing moment. There's a lot of ways we do this and nobody does one thing the exact same way as another person. But the thing about moving on is the only person that is ok with this is us and maybe whatever we are moving on with. Depending on what it is. Have you ever noticed whoever denied us what it was we wanted hates the idea of us moving on? Think about it. It's kinda funny isn't it. The person that hurts us gets mad because we are trying to be happy. Stupid isn't it? What can we do? The answer is nothing. We can't do anything about it besides let it go. The truth is they are selfish. It's not their fault. Humans by nature are selfish. But in a way it is their fault because they do not have to fall into human nature. Our goal in life is to be ultimately happy correct? Correct. The selfish people deny you but they don't want you to leave because they know your not the best, but they know you are desperate enough that if they got hurt, you are their fall back. Listen. That's bull shit. We aren't anyone's fall back. We can teach them that we have the power to find someone better than them. It's true we can. I speak from experience here. It's bull shit to think you are not good enough for someone because I believe that you have a chance to get with anyone. Trust me. If said this before it is something that I strongly believe. And I think it's right for anyone to move on for their own good. And I think it's bull shit for someone to get pissed of because you move on. And I think we should forget about them. It's their loss. Selfishness has ruined them. They have forgotten about what they truly wanted and they push others away. It catches up to them over time though. But believe me I'm speaking about this out of experience and I'm in a tough place because I fell head over heels for a girl that I have never met in my life. She doesn't know I exist. It sucks. It does. But I'm hoping or a miracle here. And I'm not afraid to say any of this, because I think most people understand how this feels because they have been there too. They just won't tell you. So let's wish for luck. Good luck to you and good luck to me to get this girl.

Ben's WTF Fact of the Day

The human heart creates enough pressure to squirt blood 30 feet into the air

Now you Know

The Captain of Dreams

Poetry is not my thing. And what you are about to read was for English class. Sorry if there's any problems in the grammar I don't really check. These post about poems really seem to relate and I'm sure you can find they relate to you too. So here it is:

In Walt Whitman’s poem, “O Captain!  My Captain!”, Whitman uses deep imagery to depict President Abraham Lincoln.  Whitman’s persona cries out to the dead Lincoln rejoicing in the great deeds and accomplishments he has achieved.  The persona uses rhetorical devices throughout the three stanza poem making known what Whitman wants the reader to understand.  Although the poem uses rhetorical devices to depict a scene with a dead President Lincoln, actually this poem relates to the dreams of the students in The Dead Poets’ Society.
The author, Walt Whitman, uses rhetorical devices to capture a picture featuring a dead President Lincoln.  For example, Whitman says, “For you the flag is flung” (2.10).  Whitman uses an example of alliteration to emphasize and to draw a picture in the readers mind of a flag flying in the air, symbolizing victory.  Whitman uses alliteration to draw attention to the line.  He tries to keep the readers attention to make sure the readers see President Lincoln as a victorious person for all the good he did for the country.  Whitman uses a type of epistrophe when he says, “Fallen cold and dead” (1.8)  Whitman uses this phrase three times, once each at the end of each stanza.  Whitman uses this to give parallel structure to his poem, to make it flow, and to point out the tragic death of Abraham Lincoln.  The phrase paints a vivid picture of a man laying on the floor pale and cold, not breathing, but dead.
The dead body of Lincoln relates metaphorically to the dreams and hopes of the graduated students in the movie, The Dead Poets’ Society.  In the movie, Mr. Keating uses “O Captain!  My Captain!” as the first poem he teaches his class about.  He tells them to refer to him as “captain.”  In light of this, Keating tries to make his class understand this poem foreshadows their dreams if they do not chase their hopes.  Keating wants his students to live happily, not with regrets and broken hearts.  Not with living with dead dreams, Keating uses unconventional ways of teaching.  He tries not to directly teach his students, but he leads them on, hoping they figure out for themselves.  He uses poetry, because poetry opens minds, allowing one to think of the meaning for themselves.
Walt Whitman’s poem relates a dead person to dead dreams.  Mr. Keating hopes to teach his students that they do not need to end up broken.  He wants them all to succeed in finding themselves and their hopes.  Whitman writes this poem to describe President Lincoln dead, but this poem opens minds to new ways of thinking and opens thoughts to relate the poem to everyday lives.

I hope this helps you find yourself. I know this helps me to figure out what I want a little. Please live by "Carpe Diem" helps reduce the pain sometimes.
